Have you got your tickets for Repeat or Revenge?
It’s only one day still the big show and tickets are flying out, you need to get them now otherwise you will miss out on a night of true world class kickboxing at the Lincolnshire Showground on 10 November 2012.
This Kickboxing Classics event is at our new venue and we really want a packed crowd to make the atmosphere electric and give our home fighters a great advantage.
This show as the best fighters from across Europe competing for the biggest titles going.
Lincoln Fight Factory owners Shawn Burton and Aaron Robinson both take on the current Professional ISKA European Light Welterweight and Welterweight champions respectively in rematches where they both hope to set the record straight.
Shawn takes on French sensation Bertrand Fleuret from Toulouse, France. Bertrand stopped Shawn in the 4th round of their previous encounter in France last year, Shawn will have is work cut out this time, its a tough fight, but he looks in great shape and is feeling confident.
Bertand has a sensational work-rate and will not stop for the whole 10 rounds, he has a granite chin, this was severally tested in their previous encounter when he had to pick himself up off the floor in the first round after a huge left hook from Shawn, so Shawn knows he can hurt him, a few changes to his plan could see the title staying in Lincoln.
Aaron takes on European number 1, Suhky Saroya from Stevenge. These two battled it out to a draw 5 years ago, Aaron stepping in at 5 days notice, dropping Suhky in the second round, but at the end of 7 hard fought rounds the judges couldn’t separate them. Both fighters have improved since then and Aaron’s last 2 fights have been unsuccessful world title challenges so he hopes to get back to winning ways.
Callum Thompson challenges for the ISKA 5 Nations title again Ireland’s Sean O’Neil. This is another rematch with Sean taking the victory in Ireland in June. Callum thought he had done enough to take the win, this is the fight he wants, its back up at 78.5kg but both fighters will come in around 76kg, both will be big for that weight and very powerful.
Lincoln’s undefeated Tom Scutt features in the final title fight of the evening when he challenges for the ISKA English title at 69.5kg against Saroya’s stablemate Hasib Khan, who has stepped in after Derby’s George Downey pulled out on Saturday. Tom has been making steady progress since his first fight 3 years ago, chalking up 6 straight wins, but here he takes up a huge step up in class. Tom has a heart of a lion and will not buckle under the pressure, this could be the first of many titles that this lad will hold, only time will tell.
Another world class professional fight on the card see’s the legendary Scott Taylor put his 48-2 record on the line against current world champion Barry O”Toole from Ireland. This has the makings of one of the best fights Kickboxing Classics has ever promoted.
As you can see, the promoters have not taking the easy options for the home fighters, what other cards do you see where the 4 main events have the local lads as the under dogs? This just goes to show how much confidence Shawn and Aaron have in not only the fighters, but themselves as coaches.
Shawn said,”we really wanted to give the lads something to work for and the crowd something to get excited about. I have been to shows all over the world and 9/10 you know that the home fighter is going to win the fight as soon as you see the programme, but here it is probably the opposite. We like to set targets for the team and then push them that bit further. We could have chosen different organisations where we could hand pick the opponents, but in my eyes if you want the titles you have to work for them, you want to call your self the best in England you fight the best in England, you want to be European champion you beat the European champion.”
“It’s a tough spot, but there is so many opportunities out there if you are prepared to work for it. ISKA is hugely active across Europe, so if we win the titles, who knows where the lads could be competing next.”
Please come and support the Lincoln KBA Fight Team, they have all trained so hard for this event and your support would mean the world to them. So before you decline their invite as your skint and then go in town and spend £80 in a nightclub, think why they are asking you to really go. It’s probably because hearing your voice really could spur them on in that last round and help them win the fight.
For tickets please call Shawn on 07900932690.
