GIVE YOUR CHILD A POSITIVE ROUTINE AFTER THE SUMMER HOLIDAYS WITH OUR INTRODUCTION TO BOXING COURSE
THE SUMMER HOLIDAYS ARE COMING TO AN END
As the summer holidays begin to draw to a close many parents start thinking about getting their children back into a good routine.
After several weeks away from the normal structure of school September can be the perfect time for children to start something new. It gives them something positive to focus on outside the classroom while helping them stay active and meet new people.
The next Kids Beginners Boxing Course at Lincoln Fight Factory starts on Wednesday 2 September 2026 and runs until Wednesday 11 November 2026.
Designed for children aged 4–13 the course provides a structured introduction to boxing in a friendly and supportive environment.
No previous boxing experience is required.
BUILDING STRUCTURE AFTER THE SCHOOL HOLIDAYS
Returning to school after the summer break can be a big adjustment.
Bedtimes change. School days return and children once again have to get used to concentrating and following a weekly routine.
Having a regular activity outside school can help provide additional structure during this period.
Our Beginners Boxing Course gives children set training sessions each week where they can exercise, learn and work towards improving their skills.
Rather than spending evenings sitting in front of a television, games console, tablet or phone they have the opportunity to take part in something active and productive.
DESIGNED SPECIFICALLY FOR BEGINNERS
Starting a new sport can sometimes feel intimidating for a child.
They may worry that everyone else will be better than them or that they will not know what to do.
That is why this course is specifically designed around beginners.
Children will train alongside others who are also developing their boxing skills and our coaches will introduce techniques gradually throughout the course.
Nobody is expected to arrive knowing how to box.
We start with the basics and develop from there.
Children who already have some boxing experience are also welcome. The course provides an opportunity to improve their fundamentals and develop better technique.
WHAT WILL YOUR CHILD LEARN?
The focus throughout the course is on developing strong boxing foundations.
Children will learn correct boxing stance and balance before progressing onto punches including the jab, cross, hooks and uppercuts.
They will also work on footwork, movement, combinations, coordination and defensive techniques.
As the weeks progress techniques will be combined together and children will be encouraged to become more confident with their movement and overall boxing ability.
Fitness is naturally developed through the sessions with boxing providing an excellent full-body activity.
There is no sparring on the Kids Beginners Boxing Course.
The emphasis is on learning technique, developing fitness and creating a positive introduction to boxing.
CONFIDENCE THROUGH LEARNING
One of the biggest benefits of learning a new sport is seeing your own progress.
Something that feels difficult during the first few sessions can gradually become easier through practice.
For children this can provide a genuine sense of achievement.
Learning a new punch, remembering a combination or improving their footwork gives them something they can recognise as their own progress.
Our coaches encourage children to listen, practise and keep working at techniques rather than expecting everything to happen immediately.
This approach can help children become more confident in their own abilities and more willing to challenge themselves.
FITNESS WITHOUT IT FEELING LIKE EXERCISE
Keeping children physically active is increasingly important particularly when so much entertainment is now based around screens.
Boxing gives children a different way to exercise.
They are not simply running around for the sake of getting tired. They are learning techniques and developing skills while being physically active.
Regular boxing training can help improve fitness, stamina, balance, agility, speed and coordination.
Most importantly children have something to concentrate on throughout the session which can make exercise far more engaging.
FOCUS, DISCIPLINE AND RESPECT
Boxing requires children to listen to instructions and concentrate on what they are learning.
Good technique takes patience.
Children need to pay attention to their stance, hand position, movement and the correct way to perform each punch.
Throughout the course we encourage good behaviour, respect for coaches and respect for the other children in the class.
These standards are an important part of training at Lincoln Fight Factory.
We want children to enjoy themselves while understanding that learning a combat sport also requires discipline and responsibility.
MAKING FRIENDS AND BECOMING PART OF THE GYM
Joining a new activity also gives children the opportunity to meet people outside their normal school and friendship groups.
Everyone starts the course with the same goal of learning and improving.
Children train alongside each other and share the experience of developing their skills over the weeks.
For quieter children this can provide another environment where they can gradually become more comfortable communicating with others and becoming part of a group.
