Kickboxing was·brought to Lincoln in 1987/1988 by Jez Hall and Jack Boas, the club was based above a small Lincoln pub and the name of the club was named after the pub. “The Still BC” and later the “Still Kickboxing Club”.
Jack Boas from Newark was in charge of the fitness side and taught boxing, Jez provided the martial arts training to the students.
In the early days the main members were Trevor ‘TNT’ Tacy (2 x World Champion, Intercontinental, European, Commonwealth, UK and British), Lee ‘The Butcher’ Swaby (2 x Undefeated WKA World Champion, Intercontinental, European,·UK and British Champion) David ‘Titch’ Marshall (UK and British Champion, undefeated in 49 fights), Rob Fulton (WKA and ISKA British Champion), Gary Mulhall (PKA British Champion), Dave ‘The Stalker’ Walker, Toni Taylor (Ladies undefeated world WKA Champion), Richard ‘Action’ Jackson and Paul ‘Mambo’ Marshall, the Club was one of the top clubs in the world, with world class fighters. Jez Hall’s famous words were “Our fighters·will fight, anywhere and anytime”.
The club became Chikara Martial Arts in the late 1990’s, The club was run by Dave ‘The Stalker’ Walker, and during the early part of the 21st century produced a new breed of fighters, Shawn “Boom Boom” Burton, Aaron “The Anvil” Robinson, Richard “The Mighty” Oak, “Stone Cold” Steven Swinburn, Hayden “The Tiger” Walker, “Ice Cold” Scott Jenkinson, Sarah “The Razor” Robinson.
The Lincoln Kickboxing Academy was formed in 2005 when the Chikara martial arts name was brought out by the 7KS and became 7KS Chikara, the club went their separate ways and started training within the walls of its current purpose built home, the Lincoln Fight Factory where it is headed up by instructors Shawn Burton and Aaron Robinson.
