Shawn started his martial arts career with Wado Ryu karate at 6 years old and graded his way up to black belt, where he built a reputation as one of the best young instructors around. Shawn was assistant instructor at a very popular class on a Friday night on the Ermine estate in Lincoln.

However, Shawn’s real passion was the competition side of Sport Karate, where he won numerous awards in individual and team Kumite (fighting) events. It was Shawn’s Kumite skills where he really earnt his reputation, eventually earning Student of the Year at HBK Karate Club.

Shawn later joined the late Jez Hall’s Chikara Martial Arts in Monson Street where he immediately fell in love with kickboxing. From the age of 15 Shawn has tested himself in the ring against some of the best fighters all over the world including Ireland, Scotland, Wales, Norway, France, Italy, Latvia and America at a professional level.

Shawn’s fight career has seen him win 5 British titles and 2 European titles as well as an unsuccessful challenge for the WKA World title in New York, America.

Shawn’s expertise lies within nutrition and fitness. He has designed diet and fitness programs plans for hundreds of clients, which have seen great results.

Working alongside Andy at Lockdown, Glen has over 15 years experience in Boxing & kickboxing and has represented local clubs Bracebridge as an amateur boxer, Lee Coults ‘No-Limits’ as a kickboxer and Impact Sleaford in amateur MMA, and has trained alongside & sparred with many of the best talents to have come out of the Lincoln.

After 2 seasons with local rugby league club Lincoln city Knights,Glen decided to work on his grappling skills with the wrestlers at the Bracebridge club,and this invaluable experience led to a passion for MMA, and led to him around the county to train at some of the best clubs available, picking up skills & techniques initially at Impact Sleaford, then Dan Gibbon at Gainsborough MMA and then the highly successful ‘Fight ministry’ teams In Grimsby & Hull. Aswell as numerous seminars with some of the best BJJ and submission grapplers in the country along the way.

This experience has led to success in several local Gym shows and grappling tournaments including winning Lincolns first ever amateur MMA tournament in 2006.

After linking with local fighter Andy Parr, the pair have trained and cornered numerous local fighters and developed a reputation as respected amateur MMA coaches having built a good stable of fighters at Satori and now at the Fight Factory club as ‘Lockdown MMA’

Andy started Martial Arts 23 years ago at the age of 12, training in Kickboxing. He devoted all his time to training and in doing so progressed very quickly. At the age of 13 he was asked by his coaches "Jack Boas" and the late "Jez Hall" to start training with the fight team. Training and sparring with World, European & British Champions like Trevor "TNT" Tacy, Lee "The Butcher" Swaby and the likes. It wasn‘t long before Andy went on to be the club’s first junior fighter and winning his first title at 14. Andy is now a 4th Dan Black Belt under Master Instructor Rob Fulton.

Since taking up MMA, Andy‘s stand up training has moved more towards Muay Thai Boxing which he has been studying under "Kru Leigh Edlin" at Lincoln’s Chao Phraya Gym. Andy has also travelled to Thailand to train at the world famous "Fairtex" Gym.

Coming from a striking background, Andy found the "grappling" side of MMA very intriguing and wasn’t long before he fell in love with it. Andy has travelled around the country attending seminars with some of the best grapplers in the world.

Andy is a Blue Belt in Brazilian Jui Jitsu under "Danny Mitchell" and has compeated in both gi and no gi compititions winnining numerous gold medals.

Andy has been training with Strength and Conditioning coach "Ian Willows" for many years now and in doing so has learnt a lot from him in all aspects of Strength and Conditioning.

Mark originally from Hull, has lived in Lincoln for the last 10 years. He has been involved in the Health and Fitness industry in Lincoln for the last 4 years, but before that he had spent 22 years in the Royal Air Force where he was an instructor in the RAF Regiment. Whilst in the RAF he qualified as a Physical Training and Endurance Leader, enabling him to take Circuit Training, Runs and Military Fitness Training (lots of crawling). His main passion is Rugby where he has represented both the Combined Services and South of England at Rugby League, at present he plays for Lincoln RFC and the County Veterans side at Rugby Union. Mark is a qualified Fitness, Kettlebells, Indoor Cycling, Boot Camp, Advanced Abs Instructor and a Level 3 Personal Trainer.

Sam started Martial Arts at the age of 12 training in Boxing and later moving into Muay Thai training under Leigh Edlin at Lincoln Chao Phraya. Coming from a striking background Sam became interested in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, grappling and MMA to develop an all round style. After training for a couple of years with the traditional BJJ Gi, Sam decided to devote all his time to developing his grappling skills with and without the Gi. He attended an overseas training camp and was able to train and spar with professional world champions like Clark Gracie of the famed Gracie family, Marcelo Garcia Black belt Gianni Grippo and Keenan Cornelius. "Training and sparring with world champions everyday and learning from the best in the world inspired me to devote all my fighting time to BJJ. Its such a deep art with endless possibilities and thousands of outcomes I thought it best to concentrate as much time as I could to BJJ"

Sam joined Doncaster Martial Arts Center and makes the long journey to train and spar every week where he earned the rank of Purple belt in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu under Black Belt, Neil White. He has also helped established the Lincoln based East Midlands BJJ Academy Instructing with Black Belt Andrew Capper and Roger Gracie Brown belt Ed Ingamells.

Sam maintains travelling all over the world multiple times a year to further develop his skills and has earned a reputation for being one of the most devoted practitioners among his peers within the Jiu Jitsu community.

With a strong eye for detail and a heavy emphasis on technical training Sam has teamed up with Lockdown MMA coaches to help develop the grappling game of fighters in the Lincoln area.
