Children’s Beginners Kickboxing Course – Lincoln Fight Factory
Course Dates: Monday 2 June 2025 – Saturday 9 August 2025
As the weather warms and school holidays draw near, many parents look for practical ways to keep their children active, engaged and learning new skills. Lincoln Fight Factory is pleased to introduce the next term of its Children’s Beginners Kickboxing Course, designed for boys and girls aged 4 to 13. This structured programme provides a positive outlet for energy, offers clear guidance and teaches valuable life skills, all within a safe and welcoming environment.
This ten-week course begins onMonday 2 June 2025 and runs until Saturday 9 August 2025, offering a consistent and balanced approach to training. Classes take place three times per week — on Mondays, Thursdays and Saturdays — providing children with regular opportunities to learn, practise and improve.
What is K1 Rules Kickboxing?
The course focuses on K1 Rules Kickboxing, a modern form of kickboxing that blends punches, kicks and knee strikes in a safe and controlled environment. It is a discipline designed not only for competition but also for self-defence and overall fitness. K1 is widely regarded as an ideal starting point for children interested in martial arts, offering practical techniques and clear progress markers.
Unlike some traditional martial arts that follow ceremonial rituals or complex grading systems, K1 training is straightforward and focused. It encourages effort and improvement without the need for memorising long routines or forms. It is suitable for all ability levels and taught in a way that prioritises safety while promoting development.
Why Enrol Your Child in Kickboxing?
Children today face a number of distractions and challenges, particularly with the increase in screen time and reduced outdoor activity. Kickboxing offers a hands-on, engaging alternative that supports both physical and mental development.
Physical Health and Coordination
Kickboxing improves overall fitness by working on strength, flexibility and balance. Children also develop better coordination and quicker reflexes, which benefit them in everyday situations and in other sports. The structured nature of training means they engage in a full-body workout without it feeling repetitive or forced.
As habits formed early in life often last into adulthood, introducing regular physical activity through kickboxing can help establish a healthier lifestyle. Unlike unstructured play or short-term sports clubs, this programme offers continuity and clear goals over the course of ten weeks.
Mental Focus and Self-Discipline
Kickboxing is more than just physical movement. It requires concentration, patience and the ability to listen to instructions. Children learn specific techniques and sequences which demand mental focus and attention to detail. This supports cognitive development and often translates into improved behaviour and performance at school.
The routine of regular training also encourages responsibility and time management, helping children understand the value of effort and consistency.
Self-Defence Skills and Confidence
Children will be taught how to defend themselves using practical techniques that can be applied if necessary. However, just as important as the physical skills is the growth in confidence that comes with learning something new and progressing through a structured course.
As their ability grows, so does their belief in themselves. Many parents notice that children who participate in martial arts become more assured in social settings, more willing to tackle challenges and less anxious about making mistakes.
Building Friendships and Social Skills
Each class brings children together in a supportive and encouraging environment. They will train alongside others of similar age and experience, helping them build friendships and develop communication skills. The sense of camaraderie that forms during the sessions contributes greatly to the enjoyment of the course.
Lincoln Fight Factory has delivered children’s kickboxing courses for over 13 years and is known for its calm, professional and inclusive approach. Instructors are experienced and approachable, ensuring that every child feels seen and supported, regardless of their starting point.
