Kickboxing Classics – Viva la Revolution show is tomorrow
We are now one day away from our next promotion at the Lincoln Fight Factory when a mix of boxing, full contact, K1 rules and low kick kickboxing all feature on the same show – Saturday ngiht could quiet possibly be our best show yet.
The show titled Viva La Revolution is simply that, a revolution in Lincoln showcasing the best kickboxing fights that we are able to offer with former World Champion Trevor ‘TNT’ Tacy headlining the show in a low kick kickboxing bout over 5 rounds against Croatia’s Coventry based Boris Vujevic in what looks set to be a classic.
Tacy is quiet possibly one of the best fighters that England has produced, but a lay of over 15 years has made him one of the gyms top attractions and a fighter that everybody is aspiring to be like. The buzz around his return is huge and after a first round stoppage on his return to the ring in March has a lot of people asking how far he could go again.
At the Viva La Revolution show he meets Vujevic, an experienced and very dangerous opponent who has a fought on some of Croatia’s biggest promotions in boxing, MMA and Thai Boxing so this should turn out to a great main event for the show.
Another fan favorite at the gym is Tarau Veronel Ömer, the former 5 time European Amateur boxing champion is looking to make it 3 wins from 3 under the gym (348 wins from 353 fights in total), when he meets the professional boxer Will Cairns from Manchester over 4 rounds. This fight could top any show, with 2 quality, experienced fighters willing to put it all on the line to take victory.
Omer put on a sensational performance in Leeds last month to win by 2nd round ko and will be hoping to make it 4 wins from 4 for the gym on the 26th,
Kickboxing Classics regular Taylor Sellars will also feature on the show where he gets his first crack at title glory. Taylor has had some impressive wins on recent shows and never fails to impress the crowd with his flashy style but he will need to be at the very top of his game to land the ISKA British title. Facing Taylor will be current Midland Champion Jack Wiles from the formidable Adrenaline Kickboxing gym in Burntwood. This has the makings of a real war and a fight the crowd will not want to miss.
Making his return to the ring is stylish kickboxer Matt Kennedy, who almost a year to the day that he fought in New York, will be stepping into the ring to compete under Full Contact Kickboxing rules against Neil Anderson from Twin Tigers in Scunthorpe.
After just one week at the Lincoln Fight Factory, Bulgarian K-1 rules fighter Petar Stoikov joins the team as a last minute replacement to fight against the very talented Christian Harrison from Panthers Gym in Derbyshire. Petar has never competed or even trained under Full Contact rules so this is a huge task, but to keep Christian on the show he is happy to give it a go.
A fight that promoter Shawn Burton is really looking forward to seeing is a K1 rules bout between two very experienced, tough fighters in Jody Meikle from Scunthorpe and Bullwell’s Danny Capness. Danny was due to fight Gavin Buckland in what was a mouth watering fight, but a withdrawal left a gap on the card, after many phone calls that came to no avail, former professional boxer and all out entertainer got in touch to offer his services. This will be a very interesting class of styles.
A battle between 2 unbeaten Lincoln heavyweight sluggers see’s Lincoln Fight Factory’s Gavin Chapman fight Shakespeare Boxing Clubs Ben Theaker in a fight that they both wanted for local bragging rights. This fight was the first matched on the card so both guys have had very long training camps, so we expect to see two heavyweights in good shape on the night. This fight could end at any point, so don’t go to the bar during the fight.
We will also get to see Lincoln lads competing against a strong team from Coventry trained by Leighton Brady where we will having some cracking bouts to determine which side of the Midlands has the best fighters.
Kyle Walker makes his debut for the gym when he faces bare knuckle boxer Russell Mason in a fight that will see two determined big punchers out to prove a point.
Shep Waby will be hoping to get back to winning ways after 2 successive defeats when he fights Jit Singh. Shep has trained very hard for this fight and will be hoping his big crowd of support will not be going home dissappointed tomorrow night.
Doru Zeala will be hoping to put last months shock defeat in Leeds behind him the experienced Billy Palmer in a fight that see’s 2 very technical fighters go against each other.
Lee Hellawell will look to put back-to-back wins together after victory in Leeds last month, with another win tomorrow night. Chris Masterson stands in the opposite corner and Craig Rainey is in the last battle of the Midlands fights when he goes up against Callum Blackmore.
The Sleaford lads are also back in action when Ben Jackson fights Leicester’s Mabas Sanda in a K1 rules bout and Phil Robbins meets Bullwell’s Connor Millward.
Keegan Roberts is also back in action looking to pick up another title when he challenges for the ISKA British K1 title against the highly rated Luke Oades from Twin Tigers.
A battle of the novices see’s Lincoln’s Josh Jackson facing Sleaford’s Matthew Bedford in a boxing bout to start the show.
