11 days to go – The next Takeover Promotions event is almost here!
What a card we have made for this event. The promoters of Takeover Promotions have pulled out all of the stops to piece together what they believe is one of strongest ‘small hall’ events in the UK in recent years. 21 September there really is no other place in Lincoln that you will want to be at, whether you are a fan of K1 rules kickboxing, boxing or just enjoy a good nights entertainment. Save this date in your diary now!
Priding his shows on very even 50/50 bouts, promoter Shawn Burton has once again pulled out all of the stops to ensure that this event tops any of the previous shows he has put on with some top quality boxing bouts on the event and a K1 rules fight card to end the night featuring fighters from across the UK taking on international fighters from France and Norway and we are delighted to be bringing it to Lincoln at the George Street based venue.
The first bout of the evening is between two very hungry debutantes who have jumped at the chance to open the show. Lincoln Fight Factory fighter Lukas Kaleda has stepped in at short notice after his team mate Bart Matusiak was ruled out of the show through injury and his worked extremely hard to get his fitness up to get back into shape to take on Phil Robbin’s prodigy Marc Priestley fighting out of New Image Gym in Sleaford. This will be a slug fest and a perfect fight to warm the fans up for the rest of the evening.
Looking to hit the ground running and follow up on last months stoppage victory in Seaham, John Chapman takes a huge step up in the class to face former Lincoln Fight Factory student Mzingaye Ngwenya, now fighting out of the Croyden Boxing Academy. John is the hardest worker in the gym and has an unbelievable fitness and work rate which he will need to over come the technically superior Ngwenya.
Ed Jarvis is also looking continue his great run of form when he takes on a very dangerous, undefeated Ben Andrews from the ever improving Infliction Gym in Derby. The Infliction team showed up in fine form for our March event, taking home 3 victories, so we know that they will want to keep that run going, but Ed is hungry to put a stop to that.
Former Romanian amateur superstar Ömer Tarau is back in action for the gym when he meets Birmingham fighter Gianni Desalerno in a 4 round bout. Ömer has looked a different class to any of his opponents in his first 10 fights for the club and we can’t wait to see him in action again. Gianni jumped at the chance to test his skills against Ömer so we looked forward to seeing this exciting match up.
It is with great pleasure that we can also announce the return of former European Champion Lukas Nanartavicius after a 6 month absence from the ring following his first defeat. We have high hopes for Lukas to have a huge future in the sport and he has certainly put in the week since agreeing to fight last month. We couldn’t have found a tougher opponent than Jack Carter from Billy Brown’s BBSK Gym in Norwich. BBSK is another gym starting to make gyms take notice on the circuit and being the only junior fight on the card, we are really looking forward to this one.
Former Polish Amateur International and European Bronze medalist Konrad Kozłowski made a great start for the gym picking up a win in May to take the Danger Zone British title in Corby and will be hoping for another stellar performance against Derby man Taylor Greig trained by Sam Godfrey at Inspire Boxing. We have seen Taylor before and know he comes with sharp skills, so this will be another great match up.
Another rematch, this time under professional K1 rules see’s Lyes Marinko trained by Jompop Kiatphontip at the world famous Kiatphontip Gym in Leeds takes on a very familiar face to the Takeover Promotions events in Dom Barnard from the Function First gym in Lincoln. The first fight ended a draw so this is a perfect show to settle the score. Lyes looks very strong and Dom, as we know, is very technical and has a very eye catching style. It is an absolute honor to promote this fight.
Kraig Green is back in action when he faces French Champion Alex Jeffy trained by Yannick Tamas at the Team Tamas Gym in France. This will be a bare shin k1 rules bout over 5×2 minute rounds. Kraig never fails to excite the Lincoln crowd with his aggressive style that see’s him leave it all in the ring, win or lose he fights with complete heart and has been a great servant to the club. Alex is trained by our good friends in the Tamas family in France and we really look forward to welcoming them back to Lincoln.
Two young lads, National champions, both with high hopes in the sport, this will be fireworks.
Gavin Chapman has his first crack at the Takeover Promotions heavyweight title, coming off the back of a stunning 1st round stoppage in his last fight to take his record to 7-1. Another tough test against Man Mountain Michal ‘Gypsy King’ Gregor from the Musashi Gym in Peterborough in what looks to be an exiting fight between to big, strong boxers more than happy to trade it out in the centre of the ring.
The final fight of the night see’s another great international fight under K1 rules see’s Lincoln Fight Factory’s Piotr Bulczynski take on Mads Valencia from Norway trained by the legendary Trevor Ambrose in Norway
We have had Mads over before to fight on our last event, he is flamboyant and good to watch, but Piotr has the ability to do the unexpected. A great match up – this is Piotr’s first fight without shin pads and being able to throw knees to the head. Two very confident, entertaining fighters in action here so expect spinning backfirsts, flying knees and kicks that will look to defy gravity.
A solid undercard featuring Petr Hellsinger vs Jordan Stokes , Brandon Auld vs Alexander Krasnov and James Jhonson vs Tadas Vasiliauskas – this looks to be another action packed show.
All this, plus a live interval performance from UK Grime sensation Big Tobz, this really is a night of entertainment for the whole family. Doors for the event open at 5:30pm with the first bout set for 6:30pm. Tickets are priced at £30 for adults and £20 for under 16’s or a VIP table of 10 is £500.
