Jordan Mcloughlin gets professional boxing career off to winning start
Jordan Mcloughlin had a successful professional boxing debut winning all four rounds against Hyde’s Dale Arrowsmith who was having his 8th professional bout.
Mcloughlin, who began his boxing career at the Lincoln Fight Factory and still trains there today under the tutelage of local boxing guru Adam Butler, looked impressive from the off. Despite not having fought for almost a year, he went straight at Arrowsmith and began landing crisp jabs and stinging right hands.
What was most impressive as the bout went on though was Mcloughlin’s work to the body. Time and again he would land visibly wilting left hooks to the tall Arrowsmith’s body and the Hyde man could be seen gasping and holding as he tried to get his breath back.
Mcloughlin had Arrowsmith badly hurt on at least 3 occasions and on the most significant Arrowsmith was about to go after a big right hand only for the bell to save him. To his great credit Arrowsmith dug deep in order to go the distance though with a little more experience Mcloughlin would have had the confidence to follow up his work and finish the job.
The decision was a formality: 40 : 36 to Mcloughlin and he will return to the ring in June. A big thanks to the vociferous following that cheered him on throughout.
Jordan would like to thank his sponsors Amar Roofing, JS Paving, Integral Utility’s, Grundys Roofing and AMG Plumbing and Heating Ltd.
Well done Jordan from everyone at the Lincoln Fight Factory
