France Select vs Lincoln KBA

We are now only 2 weeks away from the next international adventure for the Lincoln KBA team.  The event see’s Shawn Burton, Tom Scutt, Karl Trice and Wiktor Gornicki jetting off to Toulouse in the South of France to take on a French Select Team.  The Lincoln Boys will also be joined by Kaos Kickboxing’s Edward Bettison.

The event will be in the beautiful town of St Lys at the Gymnase du Cosec, 1 hour south of Toulouse on the 15 June 2013.

Shawn has fought there before and become a fan favorite during his Commonwealth title bout with Bertrand Fleuret.

This Burton, who has been selected has club captain meets ISKA World Champion William Saidi (38 wins 6 losses) from Agen in the main event in a 7 round contest at 65kgs.

“To be invited back to St Lys means I must have impressed on my last visit.  I am also in the home fighters corner so hopefully that will mean the crowd are on my side to.  It’s a massive honor for me to present not only my club, but also my city in France and to be the captain of my country whilst out their,” said Burton.

Burton will be wearing his new fightwear thanks to his sponsor Paul Spooner from eXo arma and he promises to produce the goods to take the victory.

“It’s been a strange year for me, I am having opportunity’s to fight all over the world at the minute so my name must be getting out their now.  This is what me, Lee Swaby, Aaron Robinson and Adam Butler have been working in the gym towards and now its finally paying off.  We are already in talks to fight in Ibiza, Chile, Uganda and Brazil towards the end of the year to,” added Burton.

Tom Scutt will be looking to put defeat in Argentina behind him.  He was due to fight Roman Sikorski’s former opponent, Renaud Chavaudra (18-4) over 5 rounds, but injury to Chavaudra, Scutt will now fight Christopher Mampouya at 71kg.  Mampouya fights out of Larochelle  and comes with a very good reputation.

Karl Trice looks to add to his unbeaten record of 2-0 when faces Jean Marie  Pietracak (4-0) from Agen over 5 rounds at 63kgs.  Karl is going from strength to strength and has been having some very competitive sparring with Tom Scutt in recent weeks.  This will be Karl’s first time out of the country, in face he has never been any further than Newcastle so he is very excited about this opportunity.

The final Lincoln KBA fighter on the card is 9 year old Wiktor Gornicki.  Wiktor will have his first international fight at the age of 9, this is unheard of in the sport and shows how confident the club is in Wiktors ability.

Wiktor meets 10 year old Paul Berdugo from St Lys.  The fight is at 37kg and set over 2×1 minute rounds.

“Wiktor is without doubt the hardest trainer in the gym, he never misses a class and usually stays for the adult classes with his mum to.  He is an absolute pleasure to teach.  We got the offer for Wiktor to fight on the show on the Sunday and only the day before he fought in Newark.  When most kids would say no because there were too tired from their last fight, Wiktor didn’t even have to think about it, he jumped at the chance,” said coach Burton.

Wolverhampton’s Edward Bettison will be representing Lincoln KBA when he faces the highly rated  Alain Lebrun (10-1) over 5 rounds at 64kg.  Edward has only had a hand full of fights, including 2 boxing fights and kickboxing fights against Lincoln KBA’s Aaron Robinson and World Champions Michael Johnson and Qasim Beg.  This shows he is confident in his ability and will fight anyone.

Sergio Garcia was due to be on the show against Kevin Moraldo, but a fracture to his eye socket in his last fight with Josh Elgie has ruled the Spaniard out and Michael Rudd was due to fight Frank Morrini, but injury to the Frenchman has ruled the fight off.

Anybody wanting to come and support the team needs to speak to Shawn for flight and hotel details at the gym ASAP.

Good luck Team Lincoln KBA
