Aaron Robinson retires on a high

Bit of a strange and emotional post this time guys but it is with great pride and pleasure to let you all know the one of Lincoln Fight Factorys most popular sons, Aaron Robinson landed the WKMA British Super Welterweight title this weekend in Worthing, Sussex, with a convincing 5 round display against hometown favourite Jordan Khon.

Aaron pressured the flash kicking Khon from the opening bell, landing some stinging bodyshots throughout and really slowing Khon down and forcing him onto the ropes on numerous occasions in the fight.

A huge last round sealed the win, with Aaron talking all 5 rounds on the 3 judges score cards and bring the title back to Lincoln much to the delight of the ever faithful travelling support that made the long journey to see their man in action.

Now for the sad news, we can also reveal that is was Aaron’s last fight for the gym as he is now making the move into professional boxing under the watchful eye of Newark based coach Esham Pickering.

A fight career that has spanned over 13 years, fighting at the highest level including an attempt to claim the ISKA World Title in Northern Ireland, with over 40 fights and 5 titles from Midland to British titles and competing against fighters from all over the world.

Known for his technical precision and fantastic boxing ability, Aaron had his first fight at 15, fighting for the WKA senior Midland title, which he lost on points and went on to lose his next 5 fights.  At this point, most would retire and call it a bad job, Aaron kept at it and won his first fight at his 7th attempt via a roundhouse kick to the head, knock his opponent through the ropes, onto the floor and out cold – the rest as they say is history.

Aaron is now on his best ever run, winning his last 6 fights and we wish him all the best in his new direction, we are sure he will have great success and he will have the support of everybody at the gym behind him.

He will still be popping down in the week to train and teach classes and will be helping to develop our ever growing boxing team that we have coming through.

Keep an eye out on the website for the announcement of Aaron’s debut as a boxer.
