Takeover Promotions – Britain’s Got Talent 2 – 30 March 2019

What a card we have made for this event. The promoters of Takeover Promotions have pulled out all of the stops to piece together what they believe is the strongest ‘small hall’ event in the UK in recent years. 30 March there really is no other place in Lincoln that you will want to be at, whether you are a fan of K1 kickboxing, boxing or just enjoy a good nights entertainment. Save this date in your diary now!

This time the show is named Britain’s Got Talent 2 and is a follow up to our 2016 event where we really did have some of the UK’s most talented fighters on show.

Priding his shows on very even 50/50 bouts, promoter Shawn Burton has once again pulled out all of the stops to ensure that this event tops any of the previous shows he has put on with two World Title fights on the event and a Super Fight card to end the night which would not look out of place on any of the world’s biggest K1 promotions in the world’s biggest areas, yet we are bringing it to Lincoln at the George Street based venue.

The card will be split into three sections: The Undercard, The Main Events and The Super Fights.

The Undercard will feature amateur fights for fighters with less than 10 fights and feature’s two of the Lincoln Fight Factory’s heavyweight boxers – Gavin Chapman and Jason Barnes. Gavin is coming back from a 2 year absence from the ring as he looks to comeback from his first loss and rebuild his 6-1 record when he takes on Tom Edge (5-2) from Stoke.

Jason has also decided to come back out of retirement for one last dance in the ring when he meet’s Edge’s training partner Kev Hall. Kev has bags of experience and really knows his way around the ring. These two have been matched several times before, but they will finally get the chance to meet on 30 March 2019.

Jamie Richardson will be back in action after a shoulder injury when he takes on Callum Earnshaw from Infliction in Derby, trained by Ryan Lawson under K1 rules and the long awaited return of the Polish entertainer, Piotr ‘Bang Tidy’ Bulczynski as he has is first taste of K1 rules against fellow Infliction fighter Harry Machuarage.

Another interesting bout on the Undercard see’s Lincoln Fight Factory’s Ondre Roach take on Harry Houghton from Musashi Gym in Peterborough trained by Alex Bolshunov under K1 rules.

The Main Event on The Undercard is a rematch between Function First’s Dom Barnard and Leicester Kickboxing’s Joe Queiros. Joe took the win on the first Britain’s Got Talent event, but the Lincoln man Barnard has improved massively since then and is looking for revenge. This time the shin pads are coming off as the fight under Semi-Pro rules.

The Main Events will feature some fantastic title fights to really warm the crowd up before the Super Fights and will include Midland and English K1 title defences, a boxing title bout and two mouthwatering cadet World title fights between fighters from England and Spain.

The first bout on the Main Event card see’s Lincoln Fight Factory prospect Lewis Etoria looking to add to his 5 fight winning record and retain his ISKA Midland title against Inflction’s vastly experienced Reece Street. Lewis is the poster boy for our Beginners Kickboxing Course and in just two years has become one of the first names on the fight list. A fight anyone attitude and the will to continually test himself has seen him become a fan favourite. Reece is a massive step up in class, with over 60 fights to his name under boxing, MMA and K1 rules and a highlight reel of devastating knockout victories, this looks to be a potential war of the night and both will be looking to have their arms raised at the end of the night.

Next up is a fight that we are really excited to announce. Piotr Panczak from Function First put on a brilliant display on the last Takeover Promotions event, but will need to be in the same form and then some if he is to overcome with of the rising stars in K1 Kickboxing, Rene Gajdos from Eagle Fight Club in Sheffield, trained by former World Champan Imran Khan. Rene is an absolute machine and despite his young age has disposed of everybody that has been put in his way – don’t go to the bar during this fight.

The first World Title fight of the night is a brilliant match between Assassin’s Tommy West Jr and Rafael Acosta Hereida from Spain. Tommy is in a rich vein of form of late and has a host of titles to his name. His coach Lewis Pears truly believes he is the best 16 year old -60kg fighter at the minute and you would be pushed to argue otherwise. Facing Tommy is a fighter we know very little about, but the the Spainish coach Francisco Suárez Gamiz thinks he is a genuine contender for the crown. With a K1 record of 17 -0 and an amateur boxing record of 18-1, Rafael’s stats certainly look serious. This is a brilliant match up for the -60kg ISKA Cadet World K1 Title.

We are delighted to announce this next fight – Lincoln Fight Factory’s Veronel Tarau vs Musashi’s K1 English Champion Stiven Tomashevic under boxing rules for the Takeover Promotion’s title at -63kg. These two lads could literally fight in a phone box. They both love a war and have serious power in both hands. The fight is scheduled for 4×2 minute rounds, but we wouldn’t be surprised if it ended early.

Kraig Green (8-2) will be making the first defence of his ISKA K1 English title at -60kg against Infliction’s James Luscombe (9-2). Kraig took the title on our last event in September when he beat Otis Waghorn in a brilliant fight, with a 4th round headkick knockdown securing the victory. James also featured in the show when he stepped in at short notice to take on Alex Hook for the British title. A loss there has seen him move down a weight and to English title level. A great fight between two very technical fighters.

The Main Event on the Main Event card has the potential to be the biggest junior fight ever made. Combat Academy’s Wonder Kid Blaine Wilson, the current ICO World Champion vs Miguel Heredia, Spain, the current ISKA World Champion. This is a fight that had to be made. Miguel won the title on our last event when he dethroned Keegan Roberts for the crown in a fantastic fight. Miguel is a very strong, precision fighter, who showed no fear when faced against the very well supported Keegan, but Blaine is potentially one of, if not the, best pound-for-pound fighter on the planet. Style, speed, skill, power – this young fighter has the lot. This will be one of the best fights of the year and we are delighted to have it headline our Main Event section.

The Super Fights – where do we even start with this. Every bout on this section could headline any other show and we have them all on one part of a very strong card. This is genuine top class professional K1 fighting with fighters that are already performing on some of the world’s biggest stages.

First up see’s Lincoln Fight Factory’s Marcin Durka make his debut for the gym. Coming from a great gym in Poland, Marcin looks like he could seriously shake up the UK rankings with his compact, powerful style. We couldn’t have picked a tougher Professional debut for Marcin though, the up and coming Ben Longstaff from Fight Unit in Barnsley. This is a great clash of styles with Marcin’s power and Ben slick skill set make this a very exciting fight. This bout is set over 3×3 minute rounds at 64kg.

It will be a sad day when Phil Robbin’s steps through the ropes for the very last time. Always a fan favorite and an all round nice, who has been a great servant to the club, Phil has asked for one last fight in front of his home crowd. The current ISKA Midland and WRSA English champion said he wanted something special for his last fight, so we have matched him with Mads Valencia from Trev Ambrose’s gym in Bergen, Norway. Trev never produces bad fighters, so we know we will have our work cut out to see Phil end his career on a high. Again this bout is matched over 3×3 minute rounds at 73kg.

The chief support for the Super Fights card see’s UK Number 2 Dean Pattinson (Gorilla Fight Team, Grimsby) face off with UK Number 9 Marcus Powell (Perun Gym, London). This is another top class fight that was so easy to match, as both team bit our hands off at the opportunity to appear on the card. This fight really has everything – the elusive style of Dean, who thrilled fight fans when he took the ISKA Midland title on one of our previous event’s and the experience and power of Marcus. This is another contender for the UK fight of the year.

The Main Event on the Super Fight card really is mouthwatering. This is without doubt the biggest fight the Takeover Promotions team have ever matched and a fight that a lot of other promotions will be kicking themselves for not making the match up.

So here it is……… Karl Johnson (Combat Academy, Barnsley) trained by the legendary Mick Crossland takes on the UK Number 1 and one of the most talked about fighters at the minute Wilker Barros (KO Next Gen, London). Again for such a high profile fight, where the winner will stake claim to the UK Number 1 spot, this was so easy to make. A few phone calls and is was all sorted out. The fight is one of the biggest UK fights matched in recent time and we are thrilled to boast this is our headline bout to finish of a fantastic night of fights.

Doors for the event open at 4:30pm with the first bout set for 5:00pm. Tickets are priced at £30 for adults (£35 on the door) and £20 for under 16’s or a VIP table of 10 is £500.
