Kickboxing Classics speaks to Edward Bettison

Its non-stop work for the Kickboxing Classics team in the build to Stand and Fight.  They dropped in on Edward Bettison to see how his preparations are going a head of his fight with Lincoln favourite Aaron Robinson.

Here is what he said over a protein shake:

How are you feeling about making your debut on the Kickboxing Classics show?
I’m really excited to be going pro on this Stand and Fight show. Iit has a great line up and there should be some top quality action on display.

What can the fans expect to see from you?
I’m hoping to provide a clean technical display for the crowd if I can get flowing I don’t think anybody will be disappointed.

What do you know about your opponent? His Strengths? Weaknesses?
I see that Aaron is a seasoned pro and is ranked highly as a fighter I think he has good work rate I like his movement he looks pretty sharp all round.

Aaron is arguably the biggest name you have fought, how confident are you?
Yes Aaron is the biggest name I will be facing and it seems like a very tough debut for me, I’m hoping to be able to raise my game and look like I’m meant to be in there with Aaron.

How is training going? What new things have you brought in to your regime?
As for training lots of cardio, plenty of pad work and lots of sparring.  I  just moved the club back to a full time gym so been doing plenty, the diets a pain though, no nice food for ages.  I really changed my lifestyle cleaned my act up, there will be plenty of time for partying when I’m old so got to give the fighting my full attention.

Predictions?
Predictions?  Pain!!!

I wouldn’t be in there if I didn’t think I could win.  I do not mean to sound arrogant, but you simply wouldn’t fight if you didn’t think you could win.  Ask any competitor in any sport, you have to go for the win.

What are you plans/ambitions for the future?
Plans for the future looking for a local derby with Rob Rayman, then after that get down to the 65kg mark and see what happens.  Maybe fight MMA to as it seems to suit me with my lack of height.  But in the meantime, trying to get some more fighters on shows from Kaos Kickboxing and building up our club again.  Kaos Kickboxing has gone through the process re-opening with myself and my brother Dylan Fitzpatrick head coaching we should have some real good fighters out there soon.

Cheers for reading and hope some of you guys can come to watch this kickboxing classic show all the best Eddie B and all at Kaos Kickboxing, Wolverhampton.

Thank you for your time Edward, you came across as a true gent, we are sure your performance on the show will keep the fans on their toes.  See you on the 26th.
