Button vs McEnroe

Button vs McEnroe on afternoon show of The Takeover

As most will now be aware, the biggest show ever to be held in Lincoln will now be split over 2 shows with a standard ticket event in the afternoon starting at 2pm and a sold out VIP event in the evening, so over the next few days to add to the build up for the event we will be giving more details on the fights on both cards at Deans Sports and Leisure Centre on 24 March 2018.

The next fight that we are going to cover is a mouthwatering contest beaten Judd Button and Morgan McEnroe for the ISKA 5 Nations K1 title at -60kg.

This fight was only finalised last week as Morgan was due to rematch Lincoln Fight Factory’s Kraig Green after a draw in our November event, but a medical suspension left us no choice but to withdraw Kraig from the event and who was the first to jump at the chance to take his spot – none other that his ex foe Judd Button from Paul Wiffen Academy (PWA) in Medway.

Fight fans will remember Judd’s superb performance against Kraig on our show last summer before the comeback of the year saw Kraig turn the tide with a spinning back kick to end the bout in the 2nd round.  Judd has been on a Kraig Green hunt since then, but diaries have never matched between the two camps, but a win here could see the rematch finally happen which would a great for any promoter to have on their show.

Judd is the current ICO Southern area champion, winning the title in 2017 with a highlight reel head kick knock out.

Ireland’s McEnroe, trained by Owen Doyle, was involved in an epic fight with Kraig Green last year for this title, both camps thought they won, but the judges couldn’t separate them, so we immediately agreed a rematch on The Takeover, sadly we can no longer stage this fight, but once again the Feud team still wanted to honor the fight for Morgan and we were absolutely delighted when the PWA team agreed to step in.

This has the makings of one of the fights of the year, both lads can box at a very high level, Morgan actually boxed for the Irish national team and Judd has serious knock out power – don’t go to the bar in this fight.

Tickets for the under card event are still on sale and priced at £30 for adults and £20 for under 16’s so please call the ticket hotline on 07900 93269 to book yours or for special offers on ticket/photo packages please follow this link.
