Aaron’s World Title Dream is Over – For Now

Aaron Robinson’s bid to shock the world came to a shuddering halt when Aiden Lafferty KO’d him in the 4th round.

Robinson, 25, had promised to return from Derry, Northern Ireland with the ISKA Super Welterweight title in his possession.

But his brave display at the iconic St Columbus was ended by a devastating left hook to the body.

The British champion failed to beat referee John Blackledge’s 10-count and The Anvil’s world title dream was over.

A devastated Robinson said: “I can remember the punch, it took the whole fight away from me.  I tried to battle on from the first count and felt I came back into the fight in the following round, but it just wasn’t my night, but I know my time will come again.”

“I was trying to get up but couldn’t. I’m so disappointed for those that came over to support me, I feel like i let them down.”

“I felt comfortable in there and I didn’t feel he was a massive puncher before that.”

“I got caught with something and my legs just went. I’m truly gutted I couldn’t bring the title home.”
