Vickers vs Evans

Vickers vs Evans for semi-pro British title on VIP show at The Takeover

The sold out VIP evening show at The Takeover at Deans Sports and Leisure Centre at Lincoln College has some of the biggest names in the UK K1 scene on the card, so now is the time for us to talk about those fights to wet the appetites of those who were lucky enough to secure a ticket for the event.

Not only will guests have the opportunity to have a meet and greet with the legendary boxer Frank Bruno and see UK rapper Tinchy Stryder performing a set, they will also get to witness some of the UK’s very best K1 fighters in action and one very interesting Full Contact rules bout for the Semi-Pro ISKA British Title at 70kg.

Former ISKA Midland Champion Ryan Vickers will be making his debut for the Lincoln Fight Factory when he meets IKF, WKA and ICO champion Gareth Evans from Falcon Gym, Romford for the ISKA British title at 70kg under Full Contact Rules.

10 years ago Ryan was one of the most sought after fighters in the UK, quickly amassing a reputation was one of the best boxers to compete under the Full Contact format.  Ryan picked up some massive victories over Kev Beckett, Steven Swinburn and Graham Smith to name a few, before work took him out of the country.

Ryan has been training at the Lincoln Fight Factory for the last 6 months working on his sharpness and timing and is now ready to get back in the ring.  The problem with matching somebody with Ryan’s experience is what level do you match him at as he is too good for a novice but to rusty would a world class operator at this stage, thankfully the Feud Promotions match makers were able to find the perfect opponent.

We were lucky to already be in talks with Matt Higgs of the Falcon Gym in Romford about matching some of his team and Gareth’s name was brought up – like Ryan, Gareth has fought at the top level, but had a year or so out and is the current IKF, WKA and ICO British Champion which are some of the main association’s in the sport so meeting for the ISKA title is the icing on the cake for these two who still have ambitions of challenging for world glory.

Although this is the only Full Contact rules kickboxing count on the show, given these two’s experience and power punching, this again is in the running to be fight of the night and we are delighted to be promoting this on our first event.

As stated before to VIP show is now sold out but don’t worry, tickets are still available for our under card and can be purchased from the Lincoln Fight Factory or by clicking this link.
